Pre-Y2K artwork that I had submitted to another defunct online contest - this time it was the Monthly Anime Character competition.  Unlike the MVGC though, the MAC site is long gone.

Sailor Chun-Li!
This is my 'second' Monthly Anime Character gallery submission, even though it is actually a really late one, since the MAC had Chun Li featured early in its inception.  Anyway, I couldn't think of any nifty pose, when a idea struck me.  Why not make an amalgam?  I combined Chun Li with another popular female fighter - Sailor Moon (fine, fine, most of the time she get's her butt saved by Tuxedo Mask or her fellow Sailor Senshis, but she IS the main character) and this is what I got... Sailor Chun Li!  I was planning to add a cat with a red bandanna, but dropped the idea at the last minute.

I'm glad you like it,

The whole idea just came naturally...

This is one of my earliest attempts at digital coloring. One of these days I should get around to making an updated version.

That sounds verry interesting... I'll have to tweak Chun-Li's costume so that the Sailor Moon elements are obvious. :D
